The production of clothing has gone out to countries like China, Bangladesh and Vietnam due to their low labour prices but this seems to have had a harsh impact for many big brands as with the falling cost of sterling, the exchange rate of sterling with dollars has dropped by 15%. Many fashion shop owners will struggle to pass on inflated prices as shoppers are potentially going to be a lot more careful with their cash and may decide to hold back instead of pay out unless perks are their to purchase fashion items.
