I know you would love to purchase a clothes dryer and never think about it again. The world would be better if you could use it when you want and then ignore the dryer all together. But clothes dryer is a home appliance, and like every typical home appliance, it needs regular cleaning and maintenance if you want it to do a good job. Clothes dryers are sturdy machines, but that’s not saying they don’t choke and break down sometimes, because they do. Put your helmet on because it’s time to do a little cleaning and repairing.
I am almost 100% sure you don’t know about this fact: The clothes dryer is responsible for more then 15,000 home fires in US last year. It’s a big number, don’t you think?
It is obvious then that you should take good care of your clothes dryer. Constant usage of this machine builds up lint at the clothes drye exhaust vent and creates some issues. If you do not clean this lint, you increase the chances of dryer malfunction and the fire may break out.
To prevent this, make sure you check your clothes dryer venting regularly and clean all the lint there is. You should also be aware that improper venting is another reason that may damage your appliance. A clogged clothes dryer shows the following symptoms: long drying times, noisy operation, clothes that are still damp and hot even after drying, and non-functioning automatic sensors.
Most problems with clothes dryers are related to the heat source or the motor that tumbles the clothes. One way or the other, it isn’t a very good idea to just open up the machine and start poking the parts - you need a professional repair man to do this. If you have a warranty, make sure you call them to check on your clothes dryer so you can sleep peacefully. It’s better to think ahead and prevent any possible damages or even fire.
