THE Fiji Kulawai Junior Women’s volleyball had their initial training session at Binh Dien Long An Club in Vietnam on early Wednesday morning. The volleyball club arrived without anyproblems with Anaseini Seniloli’s manager taking the team at the landing field The side went through a tough several hour training session before beginning a warm up game against Seniloli’s club tonight.

Team manager Masilina Raumakita statedthat the girls were adapting quickly to the weather in Vietnam upon their arrival. She said they were told of the aggressiveness and way of behavior of oriental teams. Raumakita said they are working on maximizing everything females could understand at Seniloli’s club.

We’ve finally arrived into Ho Chi Minh City, our host, Anaseini’s manager was here at the airport to meet and pick us up. The girls had their first training with Anaseini’s club this morning from seven to nine o’clock in the morning and they are all in shape, Raumakita said.

The atmosphere here at Seniloli’s club is cheerfull and the girls are adapting easily to it.

She said they had a lot to learn during their experience at the club. Raumakita said the focus was to draw the players’ attention on the Asian strategy of volleyball.

She said the coaches were working overnight to polish the girls’ capabilities. The girls have learnt a lot especially the way the Asians play.

The coaches are reminding the girls on their defensive tactics because these asian girls have a height advantage, Raumakita told. The Kulawai Junior club is pooled with Chinese Taipei, Thailand and India at the Asian Junior Volleyball Championship.
