Software is a general keyword which represents data that is saved on some type of media which acts to serve a purpose based on logic, usually requiring input of some kind. Classic examples of software on a traditional desktop pc are applications like paint shop pro, mine sweeper quake and similar things.

Some other examples of software that aren’t so obvious are things like the automatic gears in cars, airline flight systems, video players, pool heating and alarm systems. Although in these examples it’s a mixture of hardware and software. For example in an alarm system the software will keep checking it’s zones to see if there has been a disturbance and if so alert the authorities.  Software adds the logic to the hardware and responds depending on the event of the hardware.

A desktop computer is much the same with hardware and software. Windows the operating system itself could be considered software.

You’re Business, You’re Processes, You’re Software

Software can be made for any purpose from a robot type machine that serves coffee or does a similar task your business needs to a simple application that runs on a computer to streamline business tasks.

Although companies have spent a lot of time developing applications that act to server many purposes often your business could benefit from custom software development.
